Miss MSU Pageant to be held Thursday at Lee Hall auditorium

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Twelve students from Mississippi and Alabama will vie Thursday [Nov. 9] for the title of Miss Mississippi State University.

The annual public program to select a campus representative to the Miss Mississippi Pageant in Vicksburg begins at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall auditorium. Doors will open an hour earlier.

General admission is $8; $5 for MSU students with identification.

The contestants include (by hometown):

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Freshman Ashley N. Lewis, a human sciences/apparels, textiles and merchandising major and the daughter of Connie and Denise Lewis.

CLINTON--Freshman Audrey R. Hardin, a communication/public relations major and the daughter of Phil and Karla Hardin.

CORINTH--Senior Jill L. Shumaker, a music education major and the daughter of Buddy Shumaker and Judy Hogland.

FAIRHOPE, Ala.--Sophomore Jill E. Carter, a communication/public relations major and the daughter of Dr. Joey and Michele Carter.

JACKSON--Junior Ameka S. Catchings, a biological sciences/microbiology major and the daughter of John and Rhonda Catchings.

McCOOL--Junior Anna E. Tadlock, a communication/public relations major and the daughter of Tommy and Felicia Tadlock.

MERIDIAN--Sophomore Danielle Smith, a kinesiology/clinical exercise physiology major and the daughter of C.D. and Linda Smith.

NEW ALBANY--Sophomore Elizabeth A. Joslin, a human sciences/interior design major and the daughter of Terry and Teresa Joslin.

TUPELO--Junior Chelsey E. Penson, a communication/broadcasting and public relations major and the daughter of the Rev. Charles and Cheryl Penson.

STARKVILLE--Sophomore Tristal V. Neal, a communication/broadcasting major and the daughter of Tilda Neal; and junior Bethany L. Shipp, a communication/public relations major and the daughter of Dan and Cathy Shipp.

WALLS--Senior Britt A. Bowles, a communication/public relations major and the daughter of Stan and Lori Bowles.
