STARKVILLE, Miss.--With approach of the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Mississippi State and the university's Student Counseling Services are sponsoring an Aug. 29 address by Robert Fazio.

"When Challenge Speaks, First Listen, Then Talk Back: Learn to Grow through Loss and Adversity" will be Fazio's topic at the 6:30 p.m. public program in the Bost Extension Center Auditorium.

Fazio is president and co-founder of the New Jersey-based Hold the Door for Others Inc. He created the nonprofit organization after losing his father in the 2001 attacks on New York's World Trade Center.

"Dr. Fazio's method of motivation comes through in his message as he believes one can not only survive adversity but thrive and grow as a result," said Amy Stapleton. "He's very energetic and positive. He wants to give something you can use and take with you."

Amy Stapleton, the counseling services' outreach coordinator for Student Counseling Services, is coordinating Fazio's campus visit. For more information, contact her at
