STARKVILLE, Miss.--A Mississippi State professor and department head is a member of the inaugural class of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture Academy of Fellows.

Cameron R.J. Man, who has headed the university's landscape architecture department since joining the faculty in 1989, will be recognized as a member of the CELA academy during the organization's annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, in June.

The CELA Academy of Fellows was created to honor a faculty member's lifetime accomplishments in teaching, scholarship/creative activity and service that are considered inspiring and significant over an extended period of time.

Nominees are senior members of the academy and must have been a full-time faculty at a member school or schools for a minimum of 15 years. Man was elected to be a member of the academy's inaugural class by CELA executive board members.

Man holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and a master's in landscape architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. His areas of interest include professional practice and housing.

MSU's academic programs in landscape architecture and landscape contracting are the only ones of their kind offered in the state.
