STARKVILLE, Miss.--The Mississippi State student affiliate of a national chemical society is the organization's outstanding Mississippi chapter.
The university's chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, a national professional organization for undergraduates in chemistry, was recognized by the Mississippi Section of the American Chemical Society during a recent banquet at Mississippi College.
Chemistry instructor Debbie Beard, the chapter adviser, accepted the top award. The recognition was based on chapter activities during the 2004-05 school year.
The MSU chapter hosted the Southeast Regional American Chemical Society Undergraduate Research Conference on the Starkville campus during the spring of 2005. Members also presented several research reports at regional and national conferences during the year.
