STARKVILLE, Miss.--The director of Mississippi State's Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems will be the guest speaker for a Friday [March 31] event focused on graduate research.
Rand German, who has headed the multidisciplinary center since 2005, will address university graduate students during a noon-12:30 p.m. public event in the Colvard Union's third-floor Fowlkes Auditorium. His topic is "Research Funding for Your Graduate Research Work."
His comments are part of a 9:15 a.m.-3 p.m. showcase of graduate research under way at Mississippi State.
The event, sponsored by the Graduate Student Association, will feature more than 60 oral and poster presentations in the social sciences, humanities, life sciences, and physical sciences in displays on the union's second and third floors.
German is an award-winning mechanical engineer and materials scientist who most recently received the Award for Distinguished Achievement in Research from the Japan Society for Powder and Powder Metallurgy.
He formerly directed the Center for Innovative Sintered Products at Pennsylvania State University, where he also was Brush Chair Professor in Materials.
