Contact: Sammy McDavid

On Thursday [Nov. 17], the head of Germany's consulate in Atlanta, Ga., will be in Mississippi to address the latest meeting of Jackson's Executive Lecture Forum.

Consul General Hans-Joerg Brunner also will meet with officials of the Mississippi Development Authority during his Magnolia State stay. As with previous ELF guests, his visit is being organized by the Janos Radvanyi Center for International Security at Mississippi State University.

"German-U.S. Political and Economic Relations in View of Germany's Recent Change in Government" will be the topic of his remarks during the 11:45 a.m.-2 p.m. program at the Country Club of Jackson.

A member of the diplomatic corps since 1982, Brunner held posts in Iraq and the Ivory Coast, among other locations, before coming to the United States. He is a graduate of Regensburg University in his native country and the Sorbonne in France.

The Federal Republic of Germany consulate Brunner has led since 2003 serves, in addition to Mississippi and Georgia, the states of North and South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Like all Jackson programs, the ELF luncheon is limited to regular members and all interested news media representatives. To help the Radvanyi Center staff ensure sufficient seating, reporters, camerapersons and others from news and editorial staffs are asked to call (662) 325-8406 in advance.
