Due to Mississippi's unsettled situation in the wake of destructive Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi State University-sponsored visit to Jackson Thursday [Sept. 8] by Navy Rear Adm. William D. Sullivan is being postponed.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff's vice director for strategic plans and policy was to address the capitol city's Executive Lecture Forum. He has agreed to reschedule his visit for a later date, according to a spokesman for the sponsoring Janos Radvanyi Chair in International Security Studies at MSU.
In responding to the postponement request, Sullivan expressed his "regrets to the Executive Lecture Forum group, and also my prayers for the safety of all Mississippians and the quick recovery of the state of Mississippi. I look forward to rescheduling this event."
