STARKVILLE, Miss.--Spring semester activities of the Feb. 11 "Discovery: MSU" Day will be specifically designed for students planning to enroll this year at Mississippi State.
Organized by the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, "Discovery" is the university's ongoing campus-introductory program for prospective students.
Announcements have been sent throughout the region to encourage 2005 high school and community college graduates to take part in the daylong event. Parents also should attend, when possible.
Staff members from the Division of Student Affairs and other university offices will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Campus and residence hall tours will be provided.
Spring Discovery also traditionally includes a series of academic competitions in the subjects of art, chemistry, foreign languages, history, mathematics, and physics.
The day's activities get under way at 8 a.m. with registration in the Colvard Union's second-floor lobby, followed by general assembly in the union ballroom at 9:30 a.m. for students not involved in the academic competitions.
For competition participants, the assembly will take place at 11 a.m.; the awards ceremony at 3:15 p.m. For additional information on 2005 spring Discovery, contact Admissions and Scholarships at (662) 325-2224.
