Classical guitarist to present first 2005 recital

STARKVILLE, Miss.--A Thursday [Jan. 20] concert at Mississippi State will feature classical guitarist and university faculty member Michael Patilla presenting selections from today's leading solo guitar literature.

A part of the MSU Lyceum Faculty Chamber Series, the 7:30 p.m. public concert in McComas Hall will include selections from the works of Agustin Barrios, Manuel Ponce, Antonio Lauro, and Vicente Sojo.

An MSU faculty member since 2002, Patilla is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.

A student of some of the world's leading performers, he is an internationally honored performer who has appeared with the Eastman Chamber and Alabama Symphony orchestras, as well as at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C.

Tickets for the campus event are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
