Mississippi State's special fall program for prospective students now attending high school and community college will be held during the final weekend of October.

"Discovery: MSU" takes place 9 a.m.-noon on the 30th. The traditional academic fair on the historic Drill Field will conclude 90 minutes prior to the start of the Bulldogs' Southeastern Conference home football game with the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Sponsored by the Office of Enrollment Services, the information festival features scores of exhibits and displays prepared by departmental and student-support offices. Snacks, soft drinks and MSU food products also will be available to the visitors and their parents. University musical groups will provide entertainment.

Also beginning at 9, a limited number of $10 tickets will be made available to "Discovery" participants.

Since "Discovery" is the only such event specifically designed for prospective MSU students during the 2004 fall semester, students and their parents throughout the region are being encouraged to participate. Last year's event drew more than 3,000 registered participants.
