Mississippi State again is offering its late-year series of state-wide seminars to update small business owners and certified public accountants on current tax issues.
Organized by the College of Business and Industry's Division of Business Services, the sessions are led by university accounting professors Danny Hollingsworth and Edd Milam.
Each of five two-day sessions from mid-November to early January will explain recent tax rulings and legislation, update significant new developments in federal taxation and provide a comprehensive review of the tax consequences of being a "trade business," among other issues.
Seminar dates and locations include:
Nov. 11 and 12, Delta State University's Ewing Hall, Cleveland. Oct. 20 is the registration deadline.
Nov. 22 and 23, Jackson Hilton Hotel (101 East County Line Rd.). Oct. 29 is the registration deadline.
Dec. 8 and 9, Whispering Woods Hotel, Olive Branch (11200 East Goodman Rd.). Nov. 12 is the registration deadline.
Dec. 14 and 15, Grand Casino Hotel, Gulfport. Nov. 19 is the registration deadline.
Jan. 6 and 7, MSU's McCool Hall. Dec. 8 is the registration deadline.
A $225-per-person registration fee covers materials, instructions and refreshments. No telephone registrations will be accepted.
For accountants, participation at each seminar can qualify for 16 hours of continuing professional education credit.
