New traffic pattern for 5 Points beginning about Sept. 1

New traffic rules take effect at the Five Points intersection later this week when Creelman Street reopens to two-way traffic. Vehicles traveling west on Creelman into the intersection will have the option of turning right or left onto Stone Boulevard or may proceed straight ahead across Stone and turn left onto Bully Boulevard. As of last Saturday, northbound traffic on Stone already is able to turn left onto Creelman to reach Bully Boulevard. Northbound Stone Boulevard traffic will continue to be able to turn right onto West Lee Boulevard to reach central campus, and may turn right onto Creelman when that street reopens late this week. Traffic entering the intersection on Bully Boulevard from the west now uses two lanes only, rather than three as in the past, to accommodate the new oncoming traffic.
