Prospective students, along with their parents and other family members, are invited to be part of Mississippi State's Super Bulldog Weekend 2004.
The university's enrollment services office is sponsoring an April 17 program featuring a series of special presentations and tours designed specifically for high school and community college students considering MSU enrollment. No registration is required for the sessions that begin in the Colvard Union ballroom at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.
Participants also are invited to attend any or all of several accompanying events being sponsored by other Division of Student Affairs offices. The Down in the District Music Fest will launch the weekend at 8 p.m. on the 15th in Starkville's Cotton District residential area near campus. New York-based rock artist Gavin DeGraw headlines the event.
Other programs on the 17th include (by time and location):
--9:30 and 10 a.m., Sorority Row/Robert Jones Boulevard, sorority house tours.
--10 a.m. and noon, MSU Amphitheater, information program on campus fraternities.
--8 p.m., ampitheater, Virgin Records College MegaTour concert with recording artist Michelle Branch and special guest Rooney, the five-man Los Angeles rock band.
Super Bulldog Weekend is an annual spring celebration organized by the MSU athletic department. In addition to the 6 p.m. spring football game on the 17th, this year's weekend athletic activities include the MSU Bulldog baseball series with the University of Florida Gators at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th, 3 p.m. on the 17th and 1:30 p.m. on the 18th. The annual pig-cooking contest and fan fair also are scheduled.
