MSU summer online courses: For those who can't be on campus

Contact: Maridith Geuder

For the second consecutive year, Mississippi State is offering a variety of online courses for students and others to earn academic credit even though they're not on campus.

The university's Division of Continuing Education is providing a range of subjects from art appreciation to human anatomy. The complete listing may be viewed at http://www.distance.msstate.edu.

"We worked closely with academic departments to develop content areas and standards," said credit studies manager Laura Crittenden. "We want to accommodate students who leave Starkville during the summer for travel, part-time jobs or time with family."

Crittenden said the division also continues to aid MSU's distance learners with undergraduate and graduate-level courses available in a variety of academic disciplines. Among them are some typically not available during the spring and fall semesters, she added.
