The planned visit to Mississippi State by Martin Luther King III is being re-scheduled one day earlier than previously announced.

Due to a business conflict, MLK III now will speak at a 7 p.m. public program Monday [Feb. 9] in the university's Colvard Union ballroom. The son of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. originally was scheduled for Tuesday, the 10th.

MLK III is president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta-based King Center, which was established in 1968 to advance his father's legacy of nonviolent support for justice, equality and peace.

For more information about the visit, telephone MSU's Holmes Cultural Diversity Center at (662) 325-2033.
