Some 160 students are newly inducted members in the Mississippi State University chapter of the nation's leading higher education honor society.

Phi Kappa Phi membership is open to juniors and seniors at the top of their class in all majors. Graduate students and occasional sophomores whose scholastic achievements are at the very highest levels also are eligible.

Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine. At present, there are more than 250 chapters worldwide with a total membership of some 50,000.
