Mississippi State's 15th annual Minority Student Achievement Day will welcome top graduating high school students to campus Feb. 6.

"The daylong program salutes the academic accomplishments of seniors from throughout the region," said John Dickerson, director of enrollment services.

Dickerson said invitations have been mailed to students "who scored well on the American College or Scholastic Aptitude tests." Nearly 300 persons from throughout Mississippi and the four surrounding states attended last year, he added.

Dickerson said school counselors also are nominating candidates with superior academic achievements.

Registration for the annual spring event begins at 8:30 a.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. The schedule includes campus tours and a general assembly prior to a luncheon given by university officials. Entertainment during the meal will be provided by the MSU Black Voices.
