A musical program featuring some of the masters of classical guitar will be presented Jan. 27 at Mississippi State University.
Guest artist Trey Brabham, a Tulane University student, performs at 7:30 p.m. in Bettersworth Auditorium of Giles Hall. His public recital will include selections from Heitor Villa-Lobos, Johann Sebastian Bach, Agustin Barrios-Mangore, Joaquin Turina, and others.
Brabham has studied at Tulane under Elias Barreiro, a Cuban native and Havana Music Conservatory graduate. Brabham was a prizewinner in the 2001 Juan Orozco Competition at the University of Southern Mississippi and has received the Maynard J. Klein/Friederich Stoll Musician's Award.
He currently is recording an album of works by many of the composers represented in his MSU recital.
