A leading industrial and commercial computer corporation is awarding scholarships to four freshman engineering majors at Mississippi State.
Ridgeland-based Ergon-Diversified Technology Inc. annually recognizes academically talented students for hard work and determination through endowed scholarships that the company established in the university's James Worth Bagley College of Engineering.
The Ergon/DTI scholarships vary in dollar value and are awarded to incoming MSU students. Individuals selected for the honor must have a minimum high school grade-point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and a minimum composite American College Test score of 30 or a minimum combined Scholastic Aptitude Test score of 1,320.
Honored for the 2003-04 academic year include, by hometown:
CLINTON--John Michael Broome, an industrial engineering major and the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Broome.
HATTIESBURG--John Daniel Boyd, a computer engineering major and the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Boyd; and Craig Hackett Paterson, an electrical engineering major and the son of Dr. and Mrs. Craig Paterson.
LUCEDALE--Christopher Larkin Dailey, an electrical engineering major and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Dailey.
