Mississippi State's fall weekend program for prospective students from regional high schools and community colleges will be held Oct. 11 in conjunction with the university's 2003 homecoming celebration.
"Discovery: MSU" takes place 9 a.m.-noon on the Drill Field.
Sponsored by the Office of Enrollment Services, the academic festival features scores of exhibits and displays prepared by departmental and student-support offices. Snacks, soft drinks and MSU food products also will be available to the visitors and their parents. University musical groups will provide entertainment.
Also beginning at 9, a limited number of $10 tickets will be made available to "Discovery" participants for the 1:30 p.m. football game with the University of Memphis at Davis Wade Stadium.
"'Discovery' always is colorful, exciting and informative, and this will be the only such event specifically designed for prospective students during the 2003 fall semester," said enrollment services director John Dickerson.
"We encourage students and their parents to take this opportunity to share homecoming with us and see what Mississippi State is all about," he added.
