J. Charles Lee will be invested tomorrow (Sept. 5) as the 17th president of Mississippi State University.
The 1 p.m. ceremony will be held in the north (Green Room) end of Humphrey Coliseum. (Cloaked behind the draped curtains that form the stage backdrop, the remainder of the coliseum floor houses a special tent to be used for the university's 125th Anniversary Gala Ball on Friday night.)
The program, which begins and ends with formal music, is expected to take about 90 minutes to complete.
For the convenience of reporters covering the event, the University Relations Office will have available copies of Dr. Lee's address. Beginning at noon, UR staff members will be stationed inside Concourse Portal F with the handouts.
While reporters are free to locate the seating they prefer, video camerapersons will be asked to position their equipment on the coliseum floor to the right of the stage. A microphone junction box will be available there to provide a direct feed from the building's voice amplification system.
Once the ceremony concludes, Dr. Lee will be available in the Green Room for brief stand-up interviews.
