MEDIA ADVISORY: Defense official to address ELF Thursday

The deputy director of the U.S. Defense Department's new Office of Force Transformation speaks Thursday, Oct. 2, in Jackson.

Terry J. Pudas will address the Executive Lecture Forum during a noon program at the University Club. His visit is being sponsored by the Janos Radvanyi Chair in International Security Studies at Mississippi State University.

Pudas, a retired Navy captain, is second-in-command at the unit responsible for carrying out Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's program for transforming the United States military to face the new and evolving defense challenges of the 21st century.

Previously deputy and executive assistant to the president of the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., he holds graduate degrees from the Naval War College and Webster University.
