The future of America's insurance industry in light of the Sept. 11 terrorists attacks will be among topics examined April 24 at Mississippi State University's Mississippi Insurance Day.
Sponsored each spring by the College of Business and Industry's Peter K. Lutken Chair of Insurance, the daylong event includes a series of continuing education sessions led by professionals and others involved in the insurance industry. Company attorneys, claims adjusters and agents, as well as fire investigators, legislators, municipal and county managers, and law enforcement officials, are among those who regularly attend.
Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance George Dale, along with Scott Lakin and Anne Pope, his respective counterparts in Missouri and Tennessee, will address the 8:45 a.m. opening session at the Wise Center auditorium. They are among nearly 350 expected for the 15th annual event.
Dennis Crosby of Atlanta, Ga., will discuss 9/11's impact on The St. Paul Companies and its international counterparts at one of the morning sessions. Crosby is St. Paul's senior vice president for United States operations.
Tort reform in Mississippi is the subject of the closing afternoon session. Attorneys Greg Copeland of Jackson and Dan W. Webb of Tupelo will lead this presentation.
