Two-state tax seminar schedule announced by Mississippi State

Between Oct. 30 and Dec. 11, Mississippi State University again will offer its annual series of Mississippi and Louisiana seminars to update farmers and small business owners on current tax issues.

Each of the seven sessions will explain the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 and other major federal taxation issues and developments. A comprehensive review of new federal tax events and a working knowledge of selected small business, individual and farm tax issues also will be provided to participants.

Organized by the College of Business and Industry's Division of Business Services, the daylong sessions are led by MSU accounting professor Zoel W. Daughtrey and colleagues Daryl V. Burckel of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La., and Frank M. Messina of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Seminar dates and locations include:

Oct. 30 and 31, Starkville, MSU's Bost Extension Center south auditorium;

Nov. 1 and 2, Raymond, Hinds Community College's Eagle Ridge Conference Center;

Nov. 6 and 7, Hammond, La., Holiday Inn Conference Center;

Nov. 8 and 9, Monroe, La., Holiday Inn Holidome;

Nov. 13 and 14, Southaven, Desoto Civic Center;

Nov. 15 and 16, Cleveland, Delta State University's Delta Room of Ewing Hall; and

Dec. 11 and 12, Gulfport, Grand Casino Resort.

A $205 registration fee covers materials, instructions and refreshments. No telephone registrations will be accepted.
