A $15,000 gift from Pascagoula-based Chevron Corp. is providing scholarships for 20 students in Mississippi State's College of Engineering.
The $750 awards are being awarded to university majors in chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering.
One of MSU's two oldest academic units, the nationally accredited engineering college currently offers bachelor's degrees in 10 fields.
"Chevron is a long-time partner of the College of Engineering," said Dean A. Wayne Bennett. "We greatly value their support of our students through these scholarships, their commitment to engineering education in the state and the career opportunities they provide to MSU engineering graduates."
Chevron also supports the college's outreach efforts and the university-wide Cooperative Education program, Bennett added.
