Thousands of Mississippi State fans attending Thursday's [Sept. 20] home football game between the Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks will be able to support national disaster relief efforts now under way.
Members of the Oktibbeha County chapter of the American Red Cross will be at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field to accept disaster relief donations in a collection effort sponsored by the university. Officers of the Starkville, West Point and Columbus fire departments will assist Red Cross volunteers.
Donations by cash or check may be left at Red Cross tables situated inside any of the 12 stadium entrances.
The ESPN-televised game begins at 6:30 p.m., with gates opening two hours earlier.
