Employees of Mississippi State, as well as other interested area residents, are being invited to two university programs that explain the state's college savings plans.
Two daily public sessions will be held Sept. 18 and 19 at the Bost Extension Center theater on the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Program (MPACT) and the Mississippi Affordable Savings Program (MACS).
Designed to give an overview of what each federal and state income tax-free program offers, the sessions are organized by the state Department of Treasury's College Savings Mississippi office and the MSU department of human resources management.
Led by Kay McRee and Carol Hofer, the hour-long presentations begin at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the 18th and 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the 19th.
McRee is coordinator of College Savings Mississippi; Hofer, a representative of TIAA/CREF Tuition Financing Inc.
