The Robert Holland Faculty Senate at Mississippi State University called Friday for adoption of the proposed new design for the state flag.
The elected body representing university teachers and researchers voted 26-0, with 5 abstentions, to support a resolution offered by biological sciences professor Walter J. Diehl endorsing the proposed new design.
The vote was the first item of business at the regular monthly meeting of the body.
