For the fourth consecutive year, Mississippi State's business education honor society is ranked among the top 10 in the nation.
The university's chapter of Pi Omega Pi recently earned eighth place during a competition in Anaheim, Calif., with universities from around the United States. The rankings are based on national, community and local projects undertaken by the local organizations.
Last year, the MSU chapter finished ninth.
"This ranking recognizes the hard work and talents of very deserving students," said faculty adviser Connie M. Forde, a professor of technology and education who was named National Business Education Association Collegiate Teacher of the Year at the convention.
Founded in 1923 at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, Pi Omega Pi is among 60 members of the National Association of College Honor Societies. Chartered in 1939, the MSU chapter is among the oldest honor societies on campus.
