A nine-hour outdoor music and lifestyle festival will be held March 16 at Mississippi State University.
The free Mentos Freshmaker Tour is a noon-9 p.m. event sponsored at the campus amphitheater by MSU's Campus Activities Board and Music Maker Productions, in cooperation with the College Television Network.
A three-hour concert beginning at 6 p.m. will conclude the festival. Popular alternative music groups Stroke 9, Sumack and Pink will perform.
Open until 5 p.m., an "activities village" will include a rock-climbing wall and the Mentos Freshmaker Lounge, where Mentos mints, the latest music videos, comfortable seating, and other amenities will be available. Also scheduled during the afternoon are "Rock N. Roll" and "Name That Video" game shows offering prizes for participants with knowledge of modern music.
CTN is a satellite-delivered broadcast service reaching more than 1,500 American colleges and universities. Joining the television network as tour sponsors are Duckhead clothing, Irish Spring soap, Mennen Speed Stick deodorant, Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo, Biore facial cleaners, and Link magazine.
Each sponsor will provide a variety of product samples and additional activities to festival goers.
