For the fourth consecutive year, Mississippi State University is among "America's 100 Best College Buys."

The fourth annual report published by Institutional Research & Evaluation Inc. of Rome, Ga., identifies what it calls "the 100 American colleges and universities that provide students the highest quality education at the lowest cost."

IR&E is an independent research consulting organization specializing in the recruiting and retention of college students. The latest edition of "America's 100 Best College Buys" is based on a survey of 1,537 accredited four-year colleges and universities.

College costs, financial aid availability, and students' entrance test scores are considered in compiling the list of 100 best buys. The publication lists the cost of attending Mississippi State for one year at $6,627, including tuition and fees and room and board.

Belhaven College in Jackson and the University of Mississippi are the other Mississippi institutions on this year's list.
