Contact: Sammy McDavid

While Jan. 1 will begin a new millennium, it also will mark the beginning of just another income tax season.

To help professional tax preparers get the latest information on new government regulations affecting their clients, Mississippi State University again is sponsoring a series of seminars around the state in late November and early December.

Led by accounting professor Zoel Daughtrey, the in-service training program is offered by the College of Business and Industry's Division of Business Services. The federal Internal Revenue Service and the Mississippi Tax Commission are assisting Daughtrey in making the presentations.

The one-day seminars begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:15 p.m. A $75 registration fee covers materials, instruction, certificate of completion, and refreshments. Participants may be eligible for six hours of professional education credit.
