For the 27th year, Mississippi State students are inviting campus and community kids of all ages to a fun-filled "night of frights and sights."
The 1999 Halloween Carnival will take place 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday [Oct. 28] at the University Ampitheater. Fifty student organizations and Starkville groups will offer entertainment booths catering both to children and college students.
The carnival is a free public event organized by the Campus Activities Board. Tickets for carnival games will range from 25 cents to a dollar, with all proceeds going to the local United Way campaign.
The evening's activities actually will begin at 5:30 when nearby campus fraternity and sorority houses open their doors for young trick-or-treaters.
In addition to a variety of game booths, the carnival will include:
--A Children's Costume Contest beginning with 6:30 registration; and
--The ScHAIRy Hair Show, with MSU Fashion Board models displaying highly creative hair designs created by professionals from Avant-Garde Salon, Design Gallery, Chez Vous, and Union Station, all of Starkville.
