Mississippi State kicks off a week of Homecoming celebrations next week with basketball, baseball, tours of university facilities, and, oh yeah, a football game with LSU.
Highlights include:
--Thursday, Oct. 21--Chalk Talk with members of the football coaching staff, Colvard Union lobby, and a 6 p.m. pep rally in the Amphitheater.
--Friday, Oct. 22. Punt, pass and kick contest on the Drill Field, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Maroon and White baseball scrimmage, Dudy Noble Field, 5:30 p.m.; MSU vs. LSU, women's volleyball, 7 p.m., Newell-Grissom Building; and a "Meet the Bulldogs" basketball scrimmage at 8:30 p.m., followed by an autograph session, also in Newell-Grissom.
--Saturday, Oct. 23. 20th annual Four-Mile Run with the Big Dawgs, registration at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 7:30 at the North Farm Plant Science Research Center off U.S. Highway 82; Mitchell Memorial Library open house, tours 10:30-11:30 a.m.; MSU Alumni Association pre-game open house, 2 p.m.; children's pre-game festivities between the Butler-Williams Alumni Center and the eastside grandstand of Scott Field, 2 p.m.; Homecoming court reception at the alumni center, 3 p.m.; and the football game between MSU and LSU, Scott Field, 5 p.m., with coronation at halftime.
--Sunday, Oct. 24. MSU vs. Tennessee, women's soccer, MSU soccer field, 1 p.m., and MSU vs. Arkansas, women's volleyball, Newell-Grissom Building, 2 p.m. In addition, an art exhibit featuring the works of Leonard Farley will be on display all week in the McComas Hall art gallery and tours of the Joe Frank Sanderson (recreation) Center will be offered on Oct. 22, 23 and 24.
