MCI WorldCom exec to speak

The vice president for marketing of a major telecommunications industry is presenting a public lecture Tuesday [Feb. 23] at Mississippi State University.

Frank Grillo, of Jackson-based MCI WorldCom, will speak at 6 p.m. in 101 McCool Hall. Invited by the student business honorary Pi Sigma Epsilon, Grillo will discuss recent events in the telecommunication industry, especially the impact of the merger between MCI and WorldCom.

The 1998 merger formed a global telecommunications company with revenue last year of more than $30 billion. With operations in more than 50 countries, MCI WorldCom provides facilities-based and fully integrated local, long distance, international, and Internet services.

While on campus, Grillo also will speak to classes in the College of Business and Industry.
