A Sept. 29 and 30 information fair will highlight various resources provided to graduate students by Mississippi State's libraries.
The 4-7 p.m. events will take place in the fourth-floor faculty/graduate study area of Mitchell Memorial, the university's main library.
Presentations will be given on government documents, reference, special collections, interlibrary loans and document delivery, technical services, and circulation. Information also will be provided on the library's Instructional Materials Center and a variety of Internet resources.
"We want our graduate students to know that the library can provide support from the time they begin their studies until the time they research and write their dissertation," said coordinator Gail Peyton.
In addition to information, the programs will feature refreshments and drawings for door prizes.
Peyton said questionnaires distributed at the fair will help the library staff plan follow-up workshops on areas of special interest and need. In addition, plans are under way to develop a newsletter specifically aimed at graduate students.
"We're always available to work with graduate students in any ways that improve the effective use of library resources, including individual consultations," she said.
In addition to Mitchell, the university library system includes branches at the School of Architecture and College of Veterinary Medicine.
