Scores of representatives from business, government, non-profit, and educational organizations are expected to take part in Career Day '98 at Mississippi State University.

Held for the benefit of students, alumni and employers, the free Sept. 15-16 information-sharing program is being sponsored in the Colvard Union by the MSU Career Services Center.

"Career Day is an opportunity for all of our students and alumni to learn about employment opportunities, as well as graduate and professional education programs, summer jobs and internships," said center director Gloria H. Reeves.

Last year's event attracted more than 100 representatives from throughout the United States.

"Because this program offers participants such a tremendous opportunity to spotlight their organizations and opportunities, we usually are enrolling new representatives up to the day this program gets under way," Reeves said. "Everyone is invited."

Additionally, the center soon will begin the fall semester round of on-campus employer interviews. Interviews begin Sept. 28 and will go through Dec. 10.

To participate in the job interview process, students and alumni must first register with the center. Once registered, they may go on-line via the World Wide Web to complete their resume, sign-up for the campus interviews and participate in the center's resume referral service.

"There are no charges for currently enrolled students to register for the interview process, just as there are no fees for students and alumni to participate in Career Day," Reeves said.

The center is located in Suite 316 of the Colvard Union. To contact Reeves or other members of the staff, telephone (601) 325-3344. The e-mail address is ; the fax number is 325-7975.
