Information sessions, campus tours and door prizes will highlight a new graduate student orientation Aug. 19 at Mississippi State University.
Jointly sponsored by the Office of the Graduate School, Graduate Student Association, and Office of Housing and Residence Life, the afternoon program will introduce new master's and doctoral-degree students to programs and services available at the university.
Sessions begin at 2:30 p.m. in Simrall Auditorium. Representatives from the sponsoring organizations will provide an overview of campus life. The program concludes with a 4:40 p.m. campus tour.
Also providing campus and community information are the MSU Police Department, Longest Student Health Center, Student Counseling Center, offices of the Registrar and of Systems and Networks, Mitchell Memorial Library, and the Starkville Convention and Visitors Council.
Door prizes and refreshments are being furnished by the university's Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine and Office of Enrollment Services, as well as by Kroger supermarket and the House of Flowers in Starkville.
