A Mississippi State University engineering faculty member has a major role in the release of a new publication on manufacturing product and process design.
John M. Usher, associate professor of industrial engineering, is the lead editor for "Integrated Product and Process Development: Methods, Tools, and Technologies." Co-editors are Utpal Roy of Syracuse University and Hamid Parsaei of the University of Louisville.
The text is part of a new series on engineering design and automation published by Wiley-Interscience, a leading publisher in the science and technology field.
The 14-chapter book reports on the work and experience of 38 researchers and manufacturing industry practitioners around the world. Each chapter is divided into three sections dealing with product design, process design and case studies.
Usher, who joined the MSU faculty in 1989, holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and master's and doctoral degrees from Louisiana State University.
