Best-selling author to discuss books on race, sex and Reagan

Conservative author Dinesh D'Souza will lecture on race relations, political correctness and the Reagan presidency during two Mississippi State University appearances March 3.

D'Souza will discuss his book "The Politics of Race and Sex on Campus" at 3:30 p.m. in Lee Hall auditorium. At 7 p.m. in Simrall auditorium, he will speak on another of his books, "Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became an Extraordinary Leader." Book signings will follow each public presentation.

A former Reagan domestic policy adviser, D'Souza currently serves as the John M. Olin Research Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., a public policy "think tank." In the early 1980s, he founded the Dartmouth Review at Dartmouth College, one of the first conservative student newspapers in the country.

The best-selling, controversial author also has written several other books including "Illiberal Education" and "The End of Racism."

D'Souza's appearance is sponsored by the department of political science, the College of Arts and Sciences Colloquium Series, the Young America's Foundation, and the College Conservatives.
