Madrigal dinner to usher in Christmastide

Contact: Sammy McDavid

Holiday traditions of Merry Ole England will meld with three decades of Mississippi State history Dec. 1 when the university again sponsors the Madrigal Christmas Dinner.

The 31st annual campus recreation of a Medieval Yuletide meal begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Bost Extension Center auditorium. The program is co-sponsored by the Campus Activities Board and music education department.

In addition to a multi-course meal, the program will include a selection of songs performed by the Mississippi State Madrigal Singers, each attired in styles of the Middle Ages.

Tickets--which go on sale Nov. 11--are $15 for students; $20 for all others. They must be purchased in advance from the Campus Ticket Office in 118 Colvard Union.

For more information on the Christmastide event, telephone Chris Shriner or Paula Raffo at (601) 325-2930.
