Personal enrichment courses ranging from floral design to photography are being offered at Mississippi State University over the next two months.
Susan Brown, coordinator of non-credit programs in the Division of Continuing Education, said the courses allow adults and adolescents to develop skills as a part of leisure activities.
"They allow people to learn or refresh skills and interests that bring enjoyment to their lives," she added. "Some of the courses can even develop or enhance job-related skills."
The classes are offered in the evening or on weekends, with length of each depending on what type of activity is involved. They include:
--"Calculator Review for High School Students (and Adults)," Oct. 20,
--"American College Test Preparatory Course," Nov. 1,
--"Ceramic Angels," Nov. 1,
--"Be a Shutterbug," Nov. 3, 10 and 17,
--"Ceramics, Ceramics and More Ceramics," Nov. 11, 18, 25, Dec. 9 and 11
--"Floral Design," Nov. 17, and
--"Floral Centerpiece Design," Nov. 17.
Advance registration is recommended and a fee for each course is required.
