Defense Department executive to lecture

A deputy director of the Defense Department visits Mississippi State University Thursday [Oct. 30] to promote leadership as a part of the educational experience.

John B. Rosamond, a 1958 Mississippi State finance graduate, speaks at 1:30 p.m. in the Colvard Union small auditorium. The public program is sponsored by the University Honors Program and the Office of Research.

Rosamond, nephew of former Mississippi State president Ben Hilbun, also will visit with various student leaders while on campus.

A Mississippi native, he currently is deputy for material and facilities in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Defense for Reserve Affairs. Earlier this year, he was also named acting executive director of the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

In addition to his Mississippi State degree, Rosamond holds a master of business administration from Syracuse University. He also is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
