Nearly 100 academic advisers from the state's community and senior colleges will hold their seventh annual meeting Nov. 13 at Mississippi State University.

The program at Memorial Hall begins with registration at 8 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m.

Making presentations will be Dean J. Maurice Mahan and Assistant Dean Jack Gordy of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dean J. Richard Hurt of the Mississippi College School of Law, and academic counselor Lanna Miller of Mississippi State.

Mississippi State's Academic Advising Center is host for the year's gathering.

"These meetings provide a valuable repository of shared knowledge and expertise for those of us who work daily to meet students' diverse academic advising needs," said the center's Paula Raffo, chair of the organizing committee.

Among this year's program highlights will be presentations on the health and legal professions, as well as methods to motivate students with academic deficiencies.
