Two Mississippi State administrators are assuming new leadership positions in the university's Division of Student Affairs.
R. Bruce Crain is the new director of student financial aid and scholarships. He has been serving as associate director.
Edward A. Grandpre also moves up from associate director to head of student housing and residence life.
"Both of these outstanding professionals have made major contributions to the Division of Student Affairs and to student welfare at Mississippi State," said Roy Ruby, division vice president. "We look forward to their leadership in these important areas."
Crain will head the office that administers need- and merit-based financial resources for eligible students. More than 70 percent of Mississippi State's students receive some sort of financial aid.
He holds bachelor's degrees in business and accounting, and a master's in higher education administration, all from Mississippi State. He also has served as assistant director of the office.
Grandpre will lead a housing system that serves 4,000 students in 14 residence halls, a single student apartment complex and a family housing apartment complex.
He holds a bachelor's degree from High Point (N.C.) College, a master's from Wake Forest University, and a doctorate from Ohio State University.
Among his professional affiliations are the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Association of College and University Housing Officers and the Southern Association for College Student Affairs.
Formal approval of both appointments is expected at a future meeting of Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning.
