Art professor part of exhibition

The works of a Mississippi State University art faculty member will be part of an Aug. 3-10 international exhibition on computer graphics.

Assistant professor Anna Chupa is among a limited number of international artists invited to submit their creations for the SIGGRAPH '97 exhibition.

SIGGRAPH is the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics.

The organization's 24th international conference, this year's event will highlight the latest in technology, research, art, applications, and interactivity associated with computer graphics. The program is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Chupa is one of 13 artists to be featured at Ongoings, the center's fine arts gallery. She is exhibiting six digital electronic prints.

Chupa received a master of fine arts degree from the University of Delaware and a master's of arts in liberal studies at Dartmouth College. Prior to working in digital media, Chupa's primary works were in painting, textiles, printmaking, and performance art.
