The 20th Mississippi State University Central Mississippi Extravaganza will be held at Jackson's Trade Mart Building on Thursday, July 24.
The annual event for Mississippi State alumni, students, prospective students, and friends is sponsored by the Central Mississippi Chapter of the university's alumni association. The chapter includes Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties.
The extravaganza begins at 6 p.m., with the program set for 7 p.m. Special recognition will be given in honor of retiring Mississippi State President Donald Zacharias. Also scheduled to attend are Director of Athletics Larry Templeton and Head Football Coach Jackie Sherrill, as well as other university administrators and athletic and academic representatives.
Admission is $5 per person and tickets can be purchased at the door or from any board member of the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter. Admission is free for Mississippi State University students, prospective students, and school-age children. The chapter also is asking for donations of canned goods for the Community Stew Pot.
Mississippi State University merchandise will be available for sale at the event.
