A Mississippi State University faculty member is receiving recognition from a national engineering society.

Rebecca Toghiani, associate professor of chemical engineering, will receive the Joseph J. Martin Award from the American Society of Engineering Education at its annual conference this month. The award recognizes her paper, "Entropy: Esoteric Concept or Utility Infielder?"

In 1996, Toghiani received the Dow Outstanding New Faculty Award for the Southeastern section of the ASEE. She is a John Grisham Master Teacher.

A faculty member since 1989, Toghiani also has held positions at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received her doctorate in chemical engineering.
