A staff member in Mississippi State's Division of Continuing Education is holding new leadership positions on two associations that focus on international student education.

Arron Grow, coordinator of the university's English as a Second Language Center, has assumed the presidency of the Alabama/Mississippi Teachers of English as a Second Language. The organization involves approximately 100 members, including primary and secondary school teachers, and college instructors and professors.

He also is beginning a two-year term on a seven-state regional leadership team for the Association of International Educators.

In addition to promoting more effective administration of English programs for international students, the association assists in coordinating Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations for students and scholars. It also promotes study abroad programs for American students.

Grow is a doctoral student in the College of Education's educational leadership department.
