Special tax seminars offered

A series of seminars to update farmers and small business owners on current tax issues are being held around the region during November.

The program is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of selected farm and small business tax matters, as well as the latest information on developments in federal taxation. A comprehensive review of 1996 federal tax events also will be provided.

The seminars are sponsored by the Division of Business Services at Mississippi State University. The division is an extension service of the College of Business and Industry.

Instructors will be accounting professors Zoel Daughtrey of Starkville-based Mississippi State and Daryl V. Burckel of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La.

A $175 registration fee covers materials, instruction and refreshments.

Nov. 12-13, Hammond, La., Holidome Hotel,

Nov. 14-15, Monroe, La., Holiday Inn Atrium, and
